Animals Are Protected By Tarpaulins:
Tarpaulins have many uses. One of these uses is to keep things dry and protect them. They are used for things like temporary roof repair, general shelter, and to keep food and water protected from the elements.
Since they are basically Waterproof Economy Tarpaulins can be placed over enclosures, over food and water bins, and over crates to keep things dry. It is possible to put them over water troughs on the night of a freezing night so that they do not freeze over. Once they are removed from the trough the animals can drink freely without having to crack the ice to get to the water.
To prevent leaks and fix fallen roofing shingles, they are placed over roof enclosures. You can even use them as a more permanent roof under certain circumstances. If the tarpaulin is braced and secured properly it can make a roof for a small enclosure. This is easily replaceable and almost completely waterproof.
During warmer or colder months, temporary tarpaulin shelters can be constructed to house livestock temporarily. If you use a small frame and tie the tarpaulin over the top, it can provide shelter from the sun, rain, and cold.
Tarpaulins can also be used for several other purposes. They are a staple around the farm and house particularly if you live in an area prone to rain, or extreme weather. Make sure that the tarpaulin is secured safely and out of the reach of any animals that like to chew on tarpaulins, whether you are using them to keep the heat out of your house or to shade your animals. Ingesting the coated portions of tarpaulin can prove to be extremely harmful to most animals.
